Mike Dickerson
Senior Fellow
Mike Dickerson is a senior national security operations leader who brings 25 years of experience across the Intelligence Community, the Department of Defense, and the private sector to his role as a Senior Fellow at the Center for Cross-Sector Coordination. He has held leadership and operational roles at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), and the Joint Staff. As Staff Director (COO) of ODNI's Directorate for Mission Integration, Mike led the reorganization of a 300-person directorate and the incorporation of three national intelligence centers into it. In the Office of the IC Chief Financial Officer, he enabled delivery of the Intelligence Community's multi-billion-dollar annual budget presentation to Congress, worked its refinement with the White House Office of Management and Budget, and represented the IC CFO on the core team for the 2022 National Intelligence Strategy. Across those roles, he also spent 10 years as a senior director in a national-level, cross-government resilience program.
Mike has a track record of building what didn't exist before. He piloted the first Senior Intelligence Integrator role at the Joint Staff J2, served as ODNI's first Mission Manager for Strategy & Plans, and now leads a newly established operations function in NRO's Office of Human Resources. As Chief of Staff (CAO) of the National Intelligence Management Council, he ran operations for the DNI's most senior mission management body and stepped in as acting Council Chair on multiple occasions.
Before government service, Mike spent twelve years at Booz Allen Hamilton managing large IC task-order portfolios, serving as a counterterrorism intelligence analyst at the National Counterterrorism Center, and helping stand up new functions at ODNI. As a volunteer, he served two terms as Chair of the Board of Directors and a term as President of Alpha Kappa Psi, the oldest and largest professional business fraternity in the world.
He is also CEO & Managing Partner of The Tacitus Group, LLC. Mike is a graduate of Virginia Tech and lives in Sterling, VA with his wife, son, and rescue dog.
