American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers Security Conference

Dave Wulf had the opportunity to be on hand for AFPM's Security Conference in New Orleans.  In addition to spending time with a number of our CXC Founding Sponsors and Advisory Board Members, he was struck by the high-level insights delivered across so many top-of-mind priorities in the infrastructure security and resilience arena.  Of particular note, on the topic of drones, he heard from senior NSC officials Sebastian Gorka and Matt Whitehead—who talked about the high priority the administration is placing on the nation's counter-UAS capabilities, training, and associated policies—particularly in advance of the FIFA World Cup and America's 250th celebration upcoming this summer.  The call to action for owners and operators of critical infrastructure was to ensure that they participate actively in congressional advocacy and upcoming FAA rulemaking comment opportunities, including (on the congressional-advocacy-front) with respect to the prospect of achieving commonsense authorities to enable owners/operators to take a more active role in securing their facilities' airspace.
